PERMITTING AND CITY PLANNING IN CENTRAL OREGON
A permit is required to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, or demolish any building in Deschutes County. In most cases, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and septic permits are also required. Permits are to be applied for in person by the owner, his agent, or a properly licensed contractor. You may apply in person at the Community Development Department, 117 NW Lafayette Ave, Bend. It is also the responsibility of the person requesting a permit to check with the CDD staff regarding the setbacks, maximum building height, lot coverage and zoning restrictions of the property, and insure that the proposed use is allowed in the particular zone.
