SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY
We believe in taking care of your community, and to us this means reaching out to those who are less fortunate and in need. We are lucky to live and work in Central Oregon and think it's crucial to support our neighbors who may be struggling. Every year, RE/MAX Sunset Realty, our agents and our employees, proudly give back to our community through a number of charitable causes and organizations. Every year, we donate over 450 nights per year in our Sunriver vacation homes for charity, and we participate in the "Bless a Nest" program where our employees purchase gifts and essentials to make sure a needy family has a memorable Christmas. We mainly donate for causes and fundraisers associated around children and schools.
Keeping it Local is our motto here at RE/MAX Sunset Realty. When you list or sell your real estate with us, you are contributing to your local Sunriver and La Pine Oregon communities.

KELLY WINCH EARNS PRESTIGIOUS DESIGNATION TO HELP HOMEOWNERS IN DANGER OF FORECLOSURE

Kelly Winch of RE/MAX Sunset Realty has earned the prestigious Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation, having completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and short sales. This is invaluable expertise to offer at a time when the area is ravaged by “distressed” homes in the foreclosure process.
Short sales allow the cash-strapped seller to repay the mortgage at the price that the home sells for, even though it is lower than what is owed on the property. With plummeting property values, this can save many people from foreclosure and even bankruptcy. More and more lenders are willing to consider short sales because they are much less costly than foreclosures.
In the Central Oregon area, many homes are in danger of foreclosing. It is happening in all price ranges. Local experts say that even high-priced homes are not immune.
“This CDPE designation has been invaluable as I work with sellers and lenders on complicated short sales,” said Kelly. “It is so rewarding to be able to help sellers save their homes from foreclosure.”
Alex Charfen, founder of the Distressed Property Institute in Boca Raton, Fla., said that Realtors® such as Kelly Winch with the CDPE designation have valuable training in short sales that can offer the homeowner much better alternatives to foreclosure, which virtually destroys the credit rating. These experts also may better understand market conditions and can help sellers through the emotional experience, he said.
The Distressed Property Institute opened in January 2008 and provides training on-site and online. The CDPE is the premier designation for Realtors helping homeowners in distress and handling short sales.
“Our goal is to educate as many people as possible so we can help as many homeowners as possible,” Charfen said. For more information about CDPE designation or to find a certified distressed Realtor in your area, please call 1-800-482-0335. |
RE/MAX Sunset Realty proudly supports Sparrow Clubs USA.
We have to admit, this is one of our favorite charitable organizations. Operating under the philosophy of "Kids Helping Kids in Medical Need ", Sparrow Clubs exist to set the stage for simple yet heroic acts of kindness in youth culture. For the last four years, we've proudly sponsored the Sparrow Clubs program at La Pine Middle School and High School where the hard working students and RE/MAX Sunset Realty join forces to help a sick child suffering from a life-threatening illness. On top of that, we helped raise over $300,000 for the Sparrow Clubs USA at the RE/MAX Offices of Central Oregon Wing Ding Gala and Golf Classic over the last several years.
RE/MAX Sunset Realty Donates to the Newberry Habitat for Humanity
On Saturday, September 23, 2006, RE/MAX Sunset Realty participated in the Newberry Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament by donating $1,500. This event was a fundraiser for a local housing project in development at Wickiup Junction near La Pine. The project will include 12 houses to be built on approximately 2.5 acres on Skidgel Rd. in the newly proposed, incorporated area of La Pine. Newberry Habitat for Humanity received various donations for the event from over 50 participants, which contributed to a total of $20,000.00! The golf tournament itself was a great success with a full field of 92 players, as they filled the course at the beautiful Quail Run links in La Pine. The Central Oregon sunshine made for a great day at Quail Run, and everyone left with a very warm feeling in their hearts, knowing that they helped local families in need.
